Yesterday Man

Yesterday Man
Written by Roz Bell & James Robertson
Baby, I’ll be loving you long after the rainHas washed away your memory and watered down the painI know that I’ve been playing in the streets a little lateI’ve done some foolish shit, I know I’ve made a few mistakesChorus:But I don’t wanna be your yesterday manBaby, could you let me back inI’m so lonely, not only when you leave me, oh, oh (2x)The street’s a little colder when you’re all up on my mindI can’t keep on pretending like I’m truly satisfiedI’m not a fucking rock, you know, I feel these troubles tooSo don’t keep on playing like it’s all about youChorus:Cause I don’t wanna be your yesterday manBaby, could you let me back inI’m so lonely, not only when you leave me, oh, oh (2x)Hush, we can’t keep livin’ this wayWe was supposed to be mad lovers, not just tricks of the tradeI’m in a rage, but I can’t let my feelings showThere’s more to life than falling hard then waking up all alone, ya know? You used to let me know life wasn’t hardNow I’m scarred by the lies that’s been told to my heartCause life ain’t nothing but a birth and a deathAnd I’m stuck in the middle, still struggling for breathI’m so lonely, not only when you leave me, oh, ohI’m so lonely, not only when you leave me, oh, oh (2x)
Roz Bell is a Canadian singer-songwriter. Roz Bell, born Kevin Rosaire Bellemare, was raised in Holland Landing, Ontario, Canada, a small farming community north of Toronto. Bell grew up listening to a wide variety of music which influenced him, from the country music favored by his parents to pop hits of the 1980's. In the late 1980's Bell discovered hip-hop, and started writing rap songs at age 13. He became interested in rock music early in high school, and bought his first guitar at the age of 14. In 1998, Bell moved to Toronto, where he immersed himself in the city's diverse music scene and began to pursue a career in music. These many influences would eventually come together in the creation of Bell's first album, The First Sunbeams, released on Universal Records in September 2007. The album was produced almost entirely by James Robertson (Esthero, Skye Sweetnam) and was mixed by Neal Pogue (Outkast, Citizen Cope, Transplants).
